Directions

M1 junction 38, go under Motorway, 1st left onto Haigh Lane. At junction turn right. Next junction turn left onto Shaw Lane. Next junction turn right onto A61 towards Barnsley. 2nd set of lights turn left onto Laithes Lane to roundabout. Take 1st left. Next junction turn right onto Church Street. Approx 100 yards on left opposite church is car park. Follow rear of car park into ground.

Athersley play in the County Senior League, currently in the Premier Division. Carlton Park is one of the most basic grounds in the area, however some work is said to be being done to the Edwin Sheerin School Playing Fields due to a generous donation by Premiership Star Geoff Horsfield. Hopefully this will help them mount a surge up the pyramid.

As with most teams in the County Senior League a programme is not a requirement, nor expected by regular spectators. Some teams however produce a programme for special events or County Cup ties, again this tends to be the exception rather than the norm.
