The new kids on
the block in the Sheffield and Hallamshire area. Following on in the same vein as Enfield Town and AFC Wimbledon, this club is born out of disillusionment of their old team. They are based at the Dorothy Hyman Stadium in Cudworth, the facilities here are light-years better than their counterparts in this league. The level of support is encouraging
too, over 200 for their first league game which obviously makes a sound base to start at.
With the surroundings,
programme, tannoy announcer etc this is a club whose background is professional rather than non-league orientated. Whether
this enthusiasm will last remains to be seen, but at the moment it makes a refreshing change.
Based on the level of support expected and the fact that the club's
founders were all followers of a professional league team prior to AFC's birth, you'd expect the programme to be a good one.
If anything it surpasses expectations and then some more!
Remember this club is in the County Senior League DIVISION TWO, equivalent to ten levels beneath Football League standard and they have gone out of the way to produce this.
20 full colour, glossy pages with photos, articles etc, you don't get much better than this at Non-League level. Only drawback
is the £1.50 cover-price, but you get what you pay for.
10/10 (Region's best, folks)
